Mark your calendars for October 28th and 29th! The South Padre Island Convention & Visitors Bureau, and CCA Texas Rio Grande Valley and Lower Laguna Madre Chapters have teamed up to present the South Padre Island “Take a Kid Fishing” event. This event is open to kids 0 to 13 years old.
Jim’s Pier will host the event and it will kick off with registration on Friday evening beginning at 6:00 PM. Registration for the event is $10 per kid fishing and includes CCA New Tide membership and entry into the 2017 STAR, lunch for each signed up participant on Saturday, and the first 200 kids to sign up are guaranteed a rod and reel. Additional meals will be available for family members on Saturday for $8 per person.
All fishing will take place on Saturday from sunrise until 12 noon in public waters around South Padre Island. The weigh-in will take place at Jim’s Pier between 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM. There will be divisions for 0 – 6 years old and 7 – 13 years old. Categories for each division will be announced at
the registration party and meeting. As an added bonus, Pirates Landing Fishing Pier will also waive all entry fees for participants and their families.

All entries will be first come first serve and based off of time received prior to the event and in the order you are signed up at the registration party if you do not pre-register.
